Coverage

The directory lists 9,709 data centers in 155 countries, run by 1,935 named operators. It covers colocation facilities, sites owned by large cloud providers, cloud regions and enterprise facilities that organisations run for their own use.

Coverage is uneven. It is most complete where operators publish their own facility lists and where OpenStreetMap is mapped in detail. Some listings are for whole campuses or metro markets rather than single buildings, and some have only a city rather than an exact site.

How records are built

Listings come from operator websites, OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps, Wikidata, the Uptime Institute certification list, cloud providers' location pages and the Texas Comptroller. Listings that describe the same facility are combined into one record: same operator and facility code, the same name within a short distance, or the same name in the same city. Each facility page lists the sources behind it. The data sources page gives details and licences.

How records are classified

Record level says what a listing describes: a single building, a campus of several buildings, a market or metro area (for example a cloud region), or city only when the source names a city but not a site.

Facility type says who uses it: colocation (space rented to other companies), hyperscaler (owned by a large cloud provider), cloud region, enterprise (run by an organisation for its own use) or unclassified when the sources don't say.

Capacity figures are shown only when the operator publishes them. Locations are marked as published, geocoded from the street address, or approximate.

Who runs this site

The site is operated by Data Centers Intel. It has no accounts and no advertising; it uses Google Analytics to count visits (see the privacy policy). To report an error or ask for a listing to be corrected or removed, use the contact form.
